Oltenia: professionalizing agricultural management from day one with Agrogestia

The company
The challenge: to grow with control from day one
Oltenia didn't inherit a system. They had to build one before the first campaign started.
300 temporary workers across 7 farms. Workers showing up the same morning, needing to be registered, identified and assigned tasks on the spot. No baseline data on harvesting productivity. And Romanian labor regulations with specific reporting requirements that had to be met from day one.
Finding a technology partner with real knowledge of the berry sector — and a platform already running on similar farms — turned out to be harder than expected for the producers in Romania.
The solution: Agrogestia adapted to Romania
Oltenia met Agrogestia at Fruit Attraction. Two things were decisive: the platform's experience with blueberry producers in Spain, and the harvesting-by-weight system — which matched exactly how Oltenia needed to work.
The entire implementation was conducted remotely from Spain. Training, configuration, monitoring — all of it. The only logistical challenge was the field scales in Romania, resolved by coordinating with a local supplier of the manufacturer.
The platform was translated into Romanian and adapted to the local currency. But the real work went deeper than language. Wage calculations were adjusted to Romanian regulations, including the specific treatment of zilieri — day laborers. The automatic generation of the mandatory worker communication file, required by the Romanian Administration, was integrated into the system.
One of the most valued features in the field: managers can register a new worker on arrival by scanning their ID from the mobile app, assign an identification system immediately and have them working within minutes.
When there is no signal on the farm, the app continues operating. Data synchronizes automatically once the connection is restored.
Results
In just one year, Agrogestia has allowed Oltenia to start its business with a level of control and professionalization that many agricultural companies take years to achieve.
After the first campaign, Oltenia has complete visibility over what is happening across all 7 farms — worker productivity, harvest data by weight, activity by task — updated in real time.
Registering a new worker on arrival, which previously took significant time and effort, now takes minutes. Wage calculations and the mandatory communication file to the Romanian Administration are generated directly from the platform.
Some of the most used features today were not part of the original plan. Detailed productivity tracking by task and billing reports between the different companies within the group turned out to be exactly what the operation needed — they just did not know it yet.
”We needed a solution that understood the peculiarities of blueberries and that would adapt to our reality in Romania. Not only did Agrogestia do both, but it allowed us to start with a level of control that we didn't expect to achieve so quickly. In one year, we went from zero to having real-time productivity data and automated regulatory compliance.”

A relationship that keeps growing
A relationship that keeps growing
Oltenia and Agrogestia met at a trade fair in Spain. What followed was an implementation conducted entirely remotely — different language, different currency, different labor regulations, different operational reality. None of that prevented the platform from being fully adapted to how Oltenia works.
After the first campaign, the relationship between both teams continues to evolve. New modules and integrations are already being explored, in line with a company that decided to manage its operations professionally from the very beginning.
